Today we have submitted our response to Burnley’s emerging local plan.

Whilst we have not intended to be overly critical, we felt that the Council’s plan was lacking in some key areas from a progressive and green perspective.

We were particularly concerned with the Council’s approach in respect of:

•building on green spaces and flood plains;

•de-registering the green belt; and

•attracting retail opportunities to the town and the expense of local businesses
